Madrid is a party city, and has many different districts in which one can party until sunrise before having to crawl into work/university/guided city tour. It’s very common for young people in the city to laze away the entire night, only to have some chocolate con churros at dawn before starting their day. The city’s nightlife grew after the death of Franco and for a while involved sitting around the plazas drinking from bottles and socialising, although this practice (known as 'botellón', from 'botella', bottle) has been banned by the national government. Either way, there is plenty to see and do during your night out, notable districts for a party include Bilbao, Tribunal, Alonso Martinez or Moncloa. There really is something everywhere however, so it’s best to find some local friends and let them show you the best laces to go.
