El Retiro

If you need a break fro the hectic life of Madrid, then you can do no worse than taking a stroll in the most popular and well known park in the city El Retiro. You can find groups of youths playing drums, singing songs or lounging about. If you can pull yourself away from the music then wonder over to the boating lake where you can hire a vessel and drift out onto the waters. You can also find monuments, statues and a Crystal Palace – a structure made entirely of glass.
